Generations Telling Stories
When NYCU student Mr. Ben Harrell approached us for help with his Applied Theatre dissertation we set a goal of engaging Gullah/Geechee people and related indigenous cultures in a study to learn more about the culture across generations. By leveraging new digital tools for engagement we were extremely successful in leveraging the Digipreneur Curriculum to design a unique experience for our audience.
The project kicked off a few weeks ago…we are thrilled to be a part of the Tech Storytellers! Our aim is to:
- Enrich young people’s textual, visual, and critical literacies by exposing them to the process of developing multiple elements of playwriting, theatre, acting, and dramatic craft.
- Foster candid and meaningful dialogue among artists and audiences of diverse backgrounds by creating intergenerational PBL activities.
- Enhance instructional design through discussion events and resources, encouraging active audience participation and learning and expanding the cultural experience of theatre.
- Provide professional development and training opportunities for theatre artists, practitioners, and educators at all stages of their careers.
